    Curriculum

Conference Director: Dr. Tasha Turzo, DO, FCA
Assistant Conference Director: Josh Krembs, DO

    Watch Video Introduction

The 2026 OCA Annual Conference will explore the anatomical structures and functional systems that shape the human face across the lifespan. We will examine how these functions influence dental occlusion, cranial motion, and overall craniofacial harmony.  Attendees will also review the embryologic forces that drive growth and development from newborn through adulthood, gaining a deeper understanding of the dynamic changes that occur throughout each phase of life.

A focused study of intraoral function, dental occlusion, and their interdependent relationships with cranial motion will further enrich the learning experience. Hands-on labs will offer practical, clinically relevant skills to support effective evaluation and treatment of craniofacial dysfunctions.

    View Schedule

The goals of this conference are:

    • To understand the clinical importance of occipital condylar compression on facial growth and airway development.
    • To learn how to evaluate facial functions
    • To learn how to assess tongue function in newborns and infants.
    • To study the embryological development of the face and ways to treat it from a biodynamic perspective.
    • To understand the impact of the TMJ on facial function and learn how to evaluate and treat it.
    • To learn how to assess facial growth in children to identify early intervention needs.
    • To explore the connection between cranial osteopathy and dentistry.
    • To learn how to evaluate dental occlusion and identify cranial dental interference.
    • To learn how to determine who requires a referral to a myofunctional therapist or a functional dentist.
    • An Introduction to dental appliances and their compatibility with osteopathic cranial principles.
    • To understand the link between TMJ and chronic illnesses.

    Cranial Base Course

Unlock the Missing Link to Complex Case Management

    Course Director: Jose Camacho, DO

    Portland, Oregon

    September 25-27, 2026

    Tuition: $1,650

NOTE: Course pre-requisites are two 40-Hour Introductory Courses.

This course will equip you with palpatory confidence and precision techniques to engage intraosseous, articular, fluid, membranous, and ligamentous restrictions in the cranium, cervical, and sacral areas.

For many types of pain, post-concussion symptoms, vertigo, tinnitus, hormonal imbalances, and persistent cranial restrictions—what happens when medications, physical therapy, and surgery aren’t enough?

As a healthcare provider, you need more than just symptom management. You need tools that restore function and improve quality of life.

Osteopathic cranial base techniques provide a profound, hands-on approach to accessing deep patterns of dysfunction that contribute to many different conditions.

    Course Goals

The course will explore more specific techniques for treating the cranial base, beyond what is taught in the Introductory Course:

    • A review of the anatomy, physiology, and development of the cranial base and related CNS structures.
    • Effects of core link on the cranial base. Specific sutural techniques -- osseous detail. Treating the temporal bone -- in detail.
    • Specific treatment of SBS compression
    • Treatment of intraosseous strains.

The Course will presents a variety of approaches to treatment:

    • Specific bony articular techniques.
    • Balanced membranous tension and balanced ligamentous tension -- approaches emphasizing the forces within fascia and membranes. Approaches that utilize forces within the fluid matrix.
    • Treating through the fluid.
    • Approaches based on an understanding of the embryonic patterns of development.

Ample table training to guide students to a better understanding of their role in assisting the inherent forces of health within the Primary Respiratory Mechanism.

    Prerequisites
